Tracy Walvatne
Tracy was diagnosed with stage 1 colorectal cancer in June of 2014. While the cancer was very controlled, the surgery needed to remove the tumor would severely compromise her rectal wall therefore leaving her potentially incontinent and continually in pain. After a lot of soul searching, she decided to proceed with the full bowel resection and have an irreversible colostomy. At first it was scary, and gross, but now she finds it interesting and liberating! Her active life has not skipped a beat - she travels frequently, leads yoga class, and volunteers her (spare?) time in several organizations. According to Tracy: Life is good!
